Chargers week 2

My thoughts on the game...we sucked!!! No defense to stop the Pats. Turner refuses to run the ball on first down, or second, then leaves us with in a must pass sitiuation. It seems Turner is so fast to give up on the run if LT doesn't get 5 or more yards on every play. They needed to grind it out like they did in the third qtr. The only way to slow the Pats was to keep them off the field. I hope they play better next week in GB, or this could be a long season for fans and a short one for Turner!

1st Soccer Game

Zach and I had our 1st game on Sat. It was hot outside but the kids all did a good job. The team we played was a little to small for our team. Almost every boy on my team was a full head taller than the other. Even if we don't keep score, if we had, the score would have been 5-0. Zach had 3 goals and my other player had 2 goals. I was glad my team played well because the other coach was a mom wearing a pink princess hat, had we lost I would have never heard the end of it.

Chargers week one

That was a defensive battle between two top ranked D's of last season and I will say this season. LT is being dogged for not having a big game, and Rivers is taking some to. The Bears D is great, it got them to the SB last year. SD is not going to put up 30+ points a game. LT is not going for 100 yds every game and Rivers may even throw an int. every so often. Here are the facts the way I see it. Rivers threw the ball outstanding and to the right people almost every time. He had one int. on his only bad pass of the game, it happens. LT was still money without the stats. He was the reason for all 14 points! Gates was unstoppable (with 9 men in the box he should have been) the Bears chose to stop the run at any cost. LT having a game where he could do nothing, and the team still winning is the real thing people should look at. This was the "blueprint" to stopping SD, but you still come away with an 11 point loss. The D for SD held up big time! The Bears O is bad, but the D did what it was suppose to do, force turnovers and not give up a big play. The ref's almost cost us the game with that bullshit no call on the offsides, but it seemed to get the offense going. That was such a crappy turnover with no fault to the center or QB. Pats are next Sunday in prime time, Go Bolts! P.S. The Raiders lost again. You suck Oakland!!!

The longest mile

We had the Hemo. 5k/1 mile walk on Sat in Las Vegas. I did not go last year and Traci and Zach really wanted me to go this year so I could run the mile with Zach. I was up to run with him and have a good time. The trail goes up through a neighborhood and back down a main street where you turn around and go back the way you came to finish. They did not tell me the 1 mile mark was painted on the ground and that is where the 1 mile turns back around while the 5k people go to their turn around point some 1.5 miles away. Zach and I start off runing as the horn goes off we we move pretty far out front. We are moving right along running then walking then running again. About 15 minutes late Traci calls my cell phone and asks where are we,they just turned at the half mile mark. I say what half mile mark, I didn't see a sign, we are on the main street on the backside of the route. She then tells me to turn back around we are WAY past the mile turn around point. Not funny on a blazing hot morning. So we turn around and start back toward the finish line, and I'm thinking the whole time just how far did I run. We cross the finish line with a time of 28:38. After they give out awards for the 5k runners (which is 3 miles, remember that) and we have something to eat, I want to retrace the route Zach and I took to see how far we went total. Guess how far? Zach and I ran 2.4 miles in a 1 mile walk! The only good thing is we did it in a good time and had fun. I do not think I have to go next year, I have 1.4 miles on credit.
