Zach gives his first Injection

Zachary has made the decision that he no longer wants his port to get his medication, so we have now started giving him his meds through his veins.  I have to admit, I hate it with everything that is in me!  It has been extremely hard for me to switch from something that has been so comfortable for 10 years now, but it is his body and if he wants to try, I am willing to try as well!

He is such a strong kid!  Everyday I look at him with complete amazement with how strong he is.  Most adults don't have to deal with what he does on a daily basis and he is only ten!  He is my hero!!!

Here is a video of him giving himself his first injection!  It is hard to watch, and to be honest I cried, but it is such a huge step in our lives and I am so proud of him!

First Christmas Gift

We always let the kids open one present on Christmas Eve.  This year we decided to trick them and give them a joke gift.  Zach got Top Ramin (his favorite) and Zoey got a light bulb.  As you can tell they weren't to thrilled!  Zach through his across the room and Zoey's comment was "What the heck."  She actually thought is was really one of her gifts and said "well what am I suppose to do with it?"  Needless to say they actually got their real gift. Zach got some Charger basketball shorts and Zoey got a Fairytail Barbie doll.

It is so nice to see them so excited for Christmas. We ended the night driving around looking at lights and then making cookies for Santa and little doughnuts for the elves.  I will post those pictures later.  Oh and Zoey made some reindeer food at school so they decided to spread it all over outside for them.

Getting Old

They are getting so old!  We were on our way to see Santa, Zach was not to thrilled.  He says he is told old to see Santa!  When Zoey sat on his lap, he asked her what she wanted and she was just beside herself that she was there with Santa and he was talking to her.  She just started giggling and then was trying to hold back her tears of excitement.  She kept wiping her eyes and just looking at him with amazement!  The photographer said that is the first time she has seen a little kid so excited to see Santa that she cried.  Oh lord, I am going to have the crazed teenager that cries over a pop star!

Summer is here!

Summer is now here, and the weather is finally wonderful!  All of us have bikes except for Zoey.  I took her today to pick out her first bike so we could all start riding bikes together again.  She was so excited!  She knew what she wanted before we even went into the store.  She said that she wanted a princess bike.  We went to the store and of course the first bike she saw was a Disney princess bike, and that's all she wrote!!  Here are some fun pixs from her riding her knew bike.  She has never rode a bike before so we knew it was going to be interesting.
