Zach's First Flag Football Practice

Zach's first practice of flag football. He is the one running with the ball.

Zach is the one catching the ball and then he goes back and forth playing quarterback. Yes, that is Zoey screaming in the background.

About Kansas

Things that I have learned about Kansas since being here one month.
1. Everybody drives really slow and is in no hurry to get anywhere.
2. The wheather changes almost everyday. In the past 4 weeks we have had days of 10 degrees and days of 80 degrees.
3. The snow is fun, but the ice sucks!!
4. Everything is much cheaper!! Gas this week at Costco $1.79. Car insurance about $50 cheaper a month. Baseball game to the Royals very cheap.
5. Overland Park was #9 in 2008 for the best places to live, and in the top 15 the last 4 years previous.
6. Down the street we have 21 baseball fields, 14 soccer fields (opening in June 09), a skate park and an 18 hole golf course all done by the parks and rec. In that park there is a 8 mile bike/running path that goes through trees and by a creek. It is really pretty down there. The area we live in was #17 in the US for places to raise children under 18.

More to come down the road.

Sledding Pictures

Snow Sledding!

We were driving by the freeway by our house, and saw some kids sledding on a hill. Zach wanted to try it so we went and got him a boggie board and snow clothes. He had a BLAST!! Here are a few videos of him sledding. This hill is actually at the Chiropractic school that Travis will be attending.

Zach Ice skating

This was Zach's first time on the ice. I caught him stepping onto the ice for the first time. He is just a little blob at the left at first, but he is in the red jacket. He did such a great job for his first time.

Getting on the Ice for the first time!

He's getting braver!

He gets better and better every time!

He LOVED it! He already wants to go back tomorrow! At first he was only going along the sides of the rink. By the end thought he was good enough to skate in the center of the rink. In the beginning when he fell he would crawl to the edge and pull himself up. By the end he would fall in the middle of the ice and was able to get up without the edge.

Ice Skating

Travis was such a DORK!! He put on, what I thought were leggings, he said they were long johns, so he could wear them under his clothes to stay warm while ice skating.

Zach went ice skating for the first time. He had a blast! Here are a few pics.

Playing in the snow

Thanks Grandma Romero, the gloves finally came in handy!
